Clinical Supervision
I am a board-approved clinical supervisor for Clinical Social Work Associates and Professional Counselor Associates working towards licensure. I have worked with youth and families in medical and school settings, but the majority of my experience comes from working with adults in community mental health settings in several different roles, including as a clinical supervisor before starting my private practice. As part of my value system to create greater access to culturally responsive mental health services, I am passionate about nurturing the growth of clinicians of color. Drawing from my own experiences of navigating predominantly white workplaces and systems as a person of color, this is very personal work for me and where I feel I am most effective. In other words, I only supervise people of color!

My Approach to Supervision
Clinical work can be deeply personal work—let’s talk about it! Supervision with me is an opportunity to explore what brings you to this work and then how to reconcile where passion and values interact with professional ethics. My goal in providing supervision is to help you examine: what your strengths are, where you are most effective, where your growth edges are, what your blind spots are, what may be conflicts of interest. My only expectation for my supervisees is that you come to supervision prepared and curious. Yes, there will definitely be case consultation. You will sharpen your clinical skills, including evidence-based practices and clinical documentation—please see my therapy services page for my clinical background and approach to this work. Yes, we will look at ethics, boundaries, vicarious trauma, burnout, and self-advocacy/knowing your worth in the workplace. Topics I’m especially passionate about bringing into supervision are:
Parallel process
Transference & counter transference
Moral injury in clinical work
Incorporating the Self
Integrating social justice, being equity-informed
